We’re hiring an experienced Azure DataOps Consultant to help lead cloud-based data transformation projects. You’ll work across Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure, with a particular focus on automation, platform cost optimization, and deploying reliable CI/CD pipelines. Please note, this position is Calgary (hybrid/onsite) specific.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement scalable, automated data pipelines across Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Build and maintain CI/CD processes for data projects using tools like Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Terraform.
- Help clients manage and reduce Azure cloud spend, including storage, compute, and licensing optimization.
- Drive automation of infrastructure and platform deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Bicep, ARM, Terraform, and scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
- Integrate governance, lineage, and monitoring into deployed solutions.
- Participate in cloud migration, platform modernization, and enterprise data strategy projects.
- Support and mentor internal teams while contributing to reusable frameworks and SDK best practices.
What You Bring
- 2+ years hands-on experience deploying solutions on Azure, ideally with IaaS and PaaS services.
- Strong background in Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and/or Snowflake—understanding how to build pipelines and orchestrate workloads across platforms.
- Experience in automating cloud infrastructure and data workflows (IaC, CI/CD, scripting).
- Proven knowledge of Azure networking, security models, and cost management.
- Comfortable interfacing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong initiative and ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Preferred but Not Required
- Certification in Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Experience with FinOps practices to monitor and control cloud spend.
